Coarse screening & pre-separation
We manufacture custom-made infeed hoppers, feed chutes, and dosing hoppers for you to ensure optimal material feed.
The purpose of an infeed hopper is to
of the material in the Recycling process.
In recycling, the recyclable material is processed for reuse. This involves a series of sequential process steps. For example, this includes classification and screening using a stationary screening machine or a mobile screening plant. NIR sorting and/or magnetic sorting can also be part of the Recycling process. The process begins with the feeding of the material.
Infeed hoppers are used for this purpose. They store the material. The material is loaded into the infeed hopper, for example, using a wheel loader. In addition to storing material, one of the infeed hopper’s main functions is to transfer the material to downstream machines. The goal is for the Infeed hopper to feed the material into the processing line in the desired quantity.
Tip: If you’re looking for maximum sorting quality and profitability, use our SPALECK ActiveFEED infeed unit.
Our team would be happy to advise you on a simple retrofit or the new installation of an infeed hopper as part of your plant design. Just get in touch with us!
Robust and powerful: Set the stage for optimal Screening results right from the material feed stage. With our feed units for your Recycling line, you can optimize the feeding of your system. Naturally, they’re precisely tailored to your operations.
Made in Germany. Since 1869.
Recycling Waste Screens play a central role in many recycling plants: the reliable and accurate classification of material flows. Requiring little cleaning and maintenance, they ensure highly precise Separation cuts and accurate classification. This reduces the load on downstream sorting equipment and enables Recycling processes to be operated with high efficiency. Typical applications range from construction and demolition waste, municipal solid waste, and incinerator ash to applications in metal and plastic recycling, as well as the processing of Compost and organic material streams.

In practice, users often use different terms to refer to an infeed hopper. These terms can vary depending on the company, industry, and the plant operator’s personal experience. Common synonyms include, for example, dosing hopper, hopper, feed chute, infeed unit, storage hopper, or hopper discharge chute. Depending on the term used, different technical designs may also be associated with it.
We manufacture infeed hoppers in all sizes for you. We tailor the size and fill height precisely to your requirements. For example, infeed hoppers for high-volume materials typically have a larger capacity than those for low-volume materials. We determine the size together with you, taking into account the technology and machinery used.
